By doing this, it is hoped that the individual will develop the right attitude.Taoism is basically believed to be a Chinese religion since ancient times. It is also known as Wu Dao Jing, which means 'Eastern philosophy'. The followers are supposed to be fair-minded people who do not believe in supernatural things. However, this religion is believed to have its roots in the philosophy of Confucius.They believe that we must always observe and realize the good and the bad things of life in order to live in a better and civilized society. These adherents also believe that everything has a spiritual aspect and they must learn how to control their emotions to attain happiness. And in the same manner, they should avoid taking any action which may cause harm to other people. They also believe that they should not think negatively becaus e it can cause a negative influence on themselves and others.Now, you might be asking yourself if there is such a thing as an alternative to Buddhism and Taoism in terms of religion. Well, in fact, there is. In Japan, Jaoanese religion is mostly practiced. This religion does not require any particular set of rituals. It focuses more on the common people of Japan as the followers are basically farmers and laborers.Many of the Jaoanese would say that they don't even know what Buddhism and Taoism are. I can totally agree with this statement because I didn't know either before I moved to Japan. I thought that they are simply superstitions.
